What was once supposed to be a missile test in the Arctic Circle turned into a mission to save the world… after a massive nuclear attack crippled or destroyed most of the world. With much of the US Military destroyed due to the attack, the Roosevelt, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer in the United States Navy is one of the last ships to survive the nuclear holocaust.
The year is 2021 and the world is a different place than what the crew of the USS Roosevelt is used to. What was supposed to be a missile test in the Arctic Circle, turned into a mission to find out who is responsible for the worst attack on the world in its history. Based out of Naval Station Rota in Cadiz, Spain, the Roosevelt received an emergency call from CNE-CNA (Naval Forces Europe-Africa) to get back to home ports at all possible speed.
Some of the world is what it always was, but nothing will ever be the same… ever again.
A New World: The Journey of the USS Roosevelt, is a modern-time story depicting life on board a United States Naval Destroyer. This story takes aspiration from the TNT Original Series The Last Ship as well as slight inspiration from Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen book series.
